Efflorescence on Structural Beam

Efflorescence on structure (beam)

Efflorescence on structural beam

Efflorescence is described as usually being “a skin trouble and not a deep seated disease”.  The presence of cracks in the plastering coupled by capillary action of the water that carries soluble salts from the cracks will result in streaks of efflorescence deposits that will contribute to the reduced aesthetic value of the building.
