Remedial (see also Remedial)
Wash off the yellow stains with high pressure water jet and allow to dry completely and repaint with non-yellowing paint. If the area affected is too large for economical cleaning, removal of paint film is recommended.
Sand, clean and repaint with non-yellowing paints.
Repainting
- Remove loose and flaking paint with a scraper or wire brush, sanding the surface and feathering the edges. If the flaking occurs in multiple layers of paint, use of a filler may be necessary.
- Surface should be cleaned before applying the paint.
- Use of a top quality primer and top coat should prevent a recurrence of the problem.
- Refer to “Good Practice” section for details and instructions of painting process.
