“P” Floor Trap

This is a receptacle used to remove liquid effluent from building interior floor areas. It provides a receptacle for spills, wash down, and effluent to be collected and routed directly into the sanitary drainage piping system. A fixture trap (P shape section) in general must be self cleaning. The requirements for minimum seal for drain traps, minimum open area of grates and strainers, and mandatory inclusion of certain individual components for drains should be provided according to the standards (BS 5572:1978).
