Deterioration of structural elements

Deterioration of structural elements can be caused by poor workmanship in concrete formwork, or utilising relatively low tensile strength of concrete. Moreover, it should be good to note that some plants species are strong, and uncontrolled growth may occur such as climbing plants with branch thickness up to more than 15cm. Hence, it is crucial to ensure that these structural elements are properly designed and constructed so that it will be able to support the plants in the VGS throughout its lifespan.
