Water Tightness Test
Test Procedures
The chamber is first mounted onto the test specimen with plastering in between the chamber edges and wall before following the steps below:
- Connect wires of temperature and humidity probe, digital pressure display and
- Displacement monitoring sensor to switchboxes for automatic data acquisition by
- Data logger and laptop.
- switch on power source for water pump followed by air pump and digital
- pressure display.
- Allow water to spray onto the wall first and then let pressure to stabilize and build
- Up to 500Pa.
- Adjust the water flow rate to the desired value.
- Once air and water flow rates have stabilized, switch off the air and water pump.
- Calibrate the displacement monitoring sensor using data logger and initialize the
- Setting by pressing “5(I)” on the data logger
- After initializing, proceed to calibrate digital pressure display and environment
- Temperature and humidity probe.
- Start the program
- Readings for the data logger are captured and monitored continuously
- Throughout the test duration, observations of any leakage or dampness is to be noted on the other side of the brickwall.
