Environmental and Holidays Test for Paint
It is essentially a dew meter that computes the dew point temperature and hence the occurrence of condensation by measuring the surface temperature, air temperature and relative humidity at regular intervals and different points on a paint surface. The equipment may be used to check for condensation on the wall substrate before a paint job or to determine the moisture content of a painted wall before the next coat is applied to avoid adhesive failures.
The normal procedure for conducting the test is as follows:
(1) connect the probe to the dew meter,
(2) hold the dew meter in hand and point the probe at the surface to be measured, and
(3) reading is taken off from the dew meter.
