Fibrescope/Borescope
Limitations
- It is semi-destructive in that probe holes must be drilled and must connect to a cavity.
- Need to change the diameter of the probes if the size of the inspection hole is larger or smaller than the diameter of the probes.
- The fibres/cables in the probes can be damaged easily (sensitive) especially when the operator:
- articulate the tip when the tip is constrained.
- tries to withdraw the fiberscope from an access hole before the tip
- has been straightened.
