Cause of Defects
- Improper slope that may be due to improper leveling of screed, towards floor trap could cause water ponding in the wet area at the lowest level in the floor.
- Improper installation during the placement of tiles such as insufficient tapping of the tile into position may cause unevenness.
- Keeping a long distance between water source and floor trap could lead to water ponding when the floor is not even (Figure 1).
