Introduction
The two main functions of sanitary and plumbing system are hot and cold water supply and removal of liquid waste or liquid borne solid waste. The service should meet the hygiene and convenience standard. Commonly supply is through gravity system and for discharge; ventilated stack system is used for building with more than six storeys. The wastewater is collected and conveyed by combined sewers to sewage treatment works before final discharge into the sea. Major components used for maintainability scoring are water supply pipes, storage tank, pumps (general and sewage), sanitary appliances, sanitary piping, sewage ejector & solid diverter tank and sewer drains.
