  • The indoor layout Kitchen cabinet located too close to window. As Singapore has a high rainfall during certain times, proper awning or cantilever is very essential in every window of HDB unit. Cantilever is very essential to avoid rainwater penetrate into the room and raise indoor RH and moisture which already high because of the microclimate condition.
  • Furniture moisture contents The brown light kitchen cabinet has quite high moisture content 18% (above the average standard). It is concluded that the furniture is categorized “wet” and need to be dry up.
Remove moulds growth by wiping or vacuuming the surface. Vacuuming should be conducted with a wet –dry vacuum and the filter should be replaced. Those cleaning should be done outdoor.
