Staining after Tile Delamination

Type of Building: Commercial Building

Type of Façade: Small dimension mosaic tiles on backing wall

This case demonstrates one of the consequences of tile delamination. Dirt can be accumulated in the areas where tiles had delaminated. Once washed down by rain, staining occurs.

Dirt staining is very common with tiled façade, due to the presence of long lengths of tile joints. Dirt can be accumulated along these joints which can be carried down the façade by rain (rainwater runoff).
