Pressure Grouting

In this method, non-shrink cementitious material is grouted under high pressure as follows:-

  • Remove all defective concrete with hammer and chisel or other approved electrical tool.
  • Remove rust from rebar using wire brush (if the cross sectional area of rebar is reduced by more than 15%, additional rebar must be added).
  • Rebars must be primed with rust inhibitor.
  • Wash concrete surface thoroughly with water.
  • Erect formwork and in-fill spelled area with coarse aggregate not exceeding the size of 10mm (formwork must be firm to withstand the grouting pressure).
  • Grout in approved cementitious based non-shrink grout through the inlet pipes.
  • Apply an approved protective coating to the patched surface and paint.
