Biological Growth on the Staircase

This case is also common with other instances of biological growth in green roofs and sky terraces. In this case the stairways shows dirt streaks and signs of biological growth on its steps. The main cause for this can be identified as the runoff rainwater of surfaces with higher concentration of dirt, soil and organic matter.

Where these particles get stuck in the step, with the water run off they streak down and as the water evaporates the dirt streaks are left. And biological growth follows suit growing associated to these organic matter in the presence of moisture.
