Cold Formed Steel

Cold rolling system is to create a permanent increase in the hardness and strength of the steel, whereby changes in the structure and shape of steel achieved through rolling, hammering, or stretching the steel at a low temperature (often room temperature). However, as the strength increases, ductility decreases. Thus, cold formed section must be used with caution and proper design, especially in the use for primary structures.
