The chamber is first mounted onto the test specimen with plastering in between the chamber edges and wall before following the steps below:

  • Connect wires of temperature and humidity probe, digital pressure display and
  • Displacement monitoring sensor to switchboxes for automatic data acquisition by
  • Data logger and laptop.
  • switch on power source for water pump followed by air pump and digital
  • pressure display.
  • Allow water to spray onto the wall first and then let pressure to stabilize and build
  • Up to 500Pa.
  • Adjust the water flow rate to the desired value.
  • Once air and water flow rates have stabilized, switch off the air and water pump.
  • Calibrate the displacement monitoring sensor using data logger and initialize the
  • Setting by pressing “5(I)” on the data logger
  • After initializing, proceed to calibrate digital pressure display and environment
  • Temperature and humidity probe.
  • Start the program
  • Readings for the data logger are captured and monitored continuously
  • Throughout the test duration, observations of any leakage or dampness is to be noted on the other side of the brickwall.
