Limitations

• The results of the thermography have to be confirmed by other tests such as physical inspection and field sample tests.
• Capability of infrared equipment must be carefully selected to suit the infrared monitoring programme.
• A good thermographer must be trained and experienced. He must have an in depth knowledge of building technology when determining the anomalies and the criticality of faults detected. However, there are not presently many qualified thermographers in Singapore
