Noisy / erratic operation

Noisy / erratic operation i.e. door is not moving freely

  • Causes
  1. Roller for door or hanger is worn, rusted due to damp environment or poor make, or excessively dirty
  2. Roller shoe is worn out especially if not fitted with rubber shoe
  3. Inadequate clearance of shoe – faulty installation or rough usage
  4. Door operator becomes faulty. The reason may be various: loose / worn parts such as belt, sprocket wheel, inadequate cleaning and lubrication or mechanical damage if the car hits the hoistway ceiling due to uncontrolled movement
