Introduction
Discoloration
Type of Building: Commercial Building
Two commonly used aluminium coatings are powdered coating and flurocarbon coating. This is a case of flurocarbon coating degrading resulted from prolonged harsh environmental exposure. Under normal curcumstances, due to difference by which the colour pigment is baked at (180°C for powered coating and 270°C for fluorocarbon coating), fluorocarbon coated panels are usually able to retain their colour for up to even 20 years.
Colour fastness is dependant on the exposure of the building to sunlight. Parts of facade that have been sheltered from direct sunlight have been able to retain its colour and texture for a longer time.
