Introduction

In this case, water is leaking through the pipe penetration at the intermediate slab of a basement car park. It was evident that this exposed pipe was leaking at the joint just above the upper floor (Figure 1).
Water may collect around the pipe penetration from the leaking pipe or during car park cleaning or even from the rain water through openings of the wall. The joint between the pipe and the slab will provide the passage for water seepage when there is a lack of waterproofing or when the slab around the penetration is porous.
