  • Causes
  1. Non-compatible resistor used; causing burnt. Especially happens Due to patchwork type repair job
  2. Careless installation or maintenance which may lead to partial discharges between the various parts, ground failure etc.
  3. Dirt collected on the windings may damage insulation, reduce air flow and result in a burn out, shorts or grounds (NEII, 2005)
