Good Practices
Cleaning access facilities should be considered during design stage. If robotic cleaners are to be considered for buildings with awkward profiles, tracks and rails for their intended operations should be incorporated in the façade design (Figure 1) and the façade should be designed to facilitate the use of such robots.
Automated façade cleaning systems have the advantages of:
- Short cleaning times for large areas
- Low operating costs, no personnel costs
- Cleaning of difficult to access areas
- Flexible cleaning cycles, cleaning of especially dirty façade areas or cleaning on demand
- Consistent value and aesthetic appeal through the ease of regular cleaning
- Environmentally friendly cleaning
