Maintenance and Diagnostics
Periodic cleaning with a brush with a stiff dry bristle brush or sponge with a high suction cloth such as a chamois. For more serious cases, efflorescence can be removed by a dilute acid followed by copious washing.
Diagnostics of Defect
- Visual Inspection
- Fibrescope
Probes of the Fiberscope can be inserted through the crevices to check for its defect.
- Thermography
Thermography can be used to check for any presence of water retained in the mortar joints or behind the tiles.
