Remedial

Re-roofing

Due to thermal expansion attributed to the roofing system and the structural roof slab, splits and tears may have formed on the waterproofing layer of the roofing system. This splits and tears forms a path for the ingress of water. To repair the waterproofing layer, Re – roofing can be done.

Reroofing involves the addition of a new layer of waterproofing on the original layer. This avoids any additional working involved in the stripping away of the original layer.

During reroofing, all loose aggregate surfacing, bituminous coating, loose and deteriorated felts from the existing roof system is cleaned. Blisters, buckles, cracks and fishmouths are also repaired. An underlay layer of bitumen is then applied to cover up voids and imperfections.

The new roof membrane and insulation layer is then installed in accordance with the roofing material manufacturer’s recommendations.
