Materials

The type of stainless steel must be selected accordingly to the environment in order to extend the life cycle. Table 1 gives general guidelines for selection [2-3]. Figure 1 shows the annual patterns of temperature and relative humidity, which determine the corrosion rate in Singapore [9].
