Maintenance and Diagnostics

Avoid acidic or abrasive cleaners when cleaning marble. Since marble is a specialty material, pH-neutral cleaners specifically designed for marble are recommended. Mild soap and hot water are also suitable. Regularly vacuum or sweep loose dirt, and clean with a damp mop or sponge. Because marble scratches easily, it’s important to avoid abrasive cleaners or pads to maintain its shine. A damp cloth or a soft sponge will be adequate for cleaning.

  • The provision of sealer may protect the stone and hence with proper cleaning, it will retain the stone’s natural beauty. It is also recommended to reapply sealers to stones every 2-5 years to ensure continued performance of grantie cladding
  • Strong cleaning agents (acid based cleaners (below pH 7), high alkaline (above pH 9) cleaners or strong degreasers) should not be used to clean vanity tops or around other fittings to prevent discolouration of the vanity top.

Professional maintenance services are crucial for the long-term care of marble basins. Enlist the help of experienced professionals for regular deep cleaning, polishing, and sealing. These services extend beyond routine upkeep by addressing accumulated wear, restoring the stone’s shine, and reinforcing its protective seal. The frequency of such professional maintenance depends on the basin’s usage and the environmental conditions in your home.
