Introduction
Type of Building: Commercial
In this case, the granite floors of a few basement levels of a commercial building were found damp over large areas. The walls near the wall/ceiling joints of the lower levels were also found damp. Being a natural stone, granite may be porous depending on the nature of the constituents and the formation process. This porosity may allow granite tiles to retain water under wet conditions.
