Good Practices

Early in the design stage, architects should consider:

  1. Glazing details designed to avoid water run-off onto glass surfaces.
  2. The use of reveals, splays, flashing, drips, etc. from sealants, masonry or metals can minimise run-off and avoid the deposition of residue onto the glass.
  3. The alignment of vertical and horizontal joints to reduce staining by a large extent [3].
