- Wash off with high pressure water jet.
- Apply fungicide to the tiled surfaces to prevent further algae growths.
To prevent recurrence:
- remove the source of the dampness and to dry out the walls as thoroughly as possible;
- improve ventilation, if necessary
- remove the infected paint
- sterilise the surface by applying an antiseptic wash and to allow it to dry before redecorating; and
- use a algae/fungi resistant paint
