Fibre Cement Slate

Navigation

Property

As roof covering, fibre cement can be slates or shingles.

The earliest replica slate tiles were made using asbestos cement mixed with colour pigments, giving an authentically thin, yet strong tile at a cost well below that of natural slate. Today, the asbestos content has been substituted by other materials but fibre cement slates are still widely in use.
