Maintenance and Diagnostics

Constant maintenance of the external rendering is one method of keeping the staining at minimal level.

However, main consequences of staining can be kept low by adopting good design practises which will discourage the accumulation of dirt particles on the surface of external rendering.

It is recommended that painted facades should be washed, cleaned and painted periodically when stains are readily visible and affects a large area. Public residential flats are usually given a fresh coat of paint once every five year. Within this period, the external walls are usually not washed or maintained regularly.
