Concrete
The crack in the concrete should be prevented by the reducing bleeding of the concrete or vibrating of the concrete upon the formation of the crack during the initial curing of the concrete (Figure 1a to c).
The ways to prevent plastic settlement crack during casting of concrete before plastering:
- Reduce the bleeding and settlement
- Reduce the restraint
- Adopting the technique of revibration
The use of air-entraining admixture can also significantly reduce the bleeding of the concrete (Figure 2a to b).
After the curing of the concrete, upon the formation of the crack prior to plastering, the cracking in the concrete should be impregnated with the same or stronger grade of grouting.
